We all know we will experience death but most of us try to advert our minds to more pleasant or hopeful thoughts. Why do I love life so much?...It really isn't that great. I mean there are many joys in this life, but there are also many sorrows. Will death be painful? Maybe it will be. I've been by my husband's side and visited with many people that get sick and eventually die. Death is horrible. It is very hard to watch people die. Cancer is the worst to watch. Death is impossible to pretty up. All we can do is tuck it away and try to hide it in hospitals, nursing homes, and caskets. Why do so many people wait until they are near death before they think about what will happen afterwards? I know what happens. The judgement happens. We will be tested to see if we are in Christ and if Christ is us. We will be separated into two groups and placed into two possible places. Heaven or Hell. Our society is so youth focused. With our newest technology old people can transform themselves and disguise their real age. They have the appearance as being young...but they aren't. They have been given only a small amount of time to live, just like me. God has given us some time to live but our days are numbered. Most Christians, including myself, hope that Jesus will return before they die. I hope that happens but I'm getting to the age where I think I'm going to experience death. I don't like getting older. I don't like watching age and its affects happen to me. I see the changes in the mirror. I feel the changes on my body. Do I have any hope? Oh, yes! My faith brings me an incredible amount of hope. What is my only comfort in life and in death? That I am not my own, but belong body and soul, in life and in death—to my faithful Savior Jesus Christ. He has fully paid for all my sins with his precious blood,and has set me free from the tyranny of the devil. He also watches over me in such a way that not a hair can fall from my head without the will of my Father in heaven: in fact, all things must work together for my salvation. Because I belong to him, Christ, by his Holy Spirit, assures me of eternal life and makes me wholeheartedly willing and ready from now on to live for him. My body will experience death but my soul has already been transformed. My soul has experienced the first resurrection already. O Death, where is your sting? Hades, you do not have victory over me.
